Healing Through Movement and Stillness: Movement begets Movement. Stillness begets Stillness
Personal Investment: $40 for 1 session; $100 for 1 full day of sessions (3 sessions per day) or $180 Entire weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
Saturday May 16th Morning Session: 9 AM to 12 PM
The Sacred Structure: Sacrum and Spine; Form and Functionality.
This workshop will help us to identify stiffness, ease and instability in parts of the spine. We'll explore the movement of 'our' unique spine. We'll learn to move into the difficulties without pain. Our spine is a spring as much as it supports our body. We want to get back to the balance between support without compression, lightness without instability. When we start to experience pain, it's usually the result of long-term misalignments. We have ideal ranges of motion, defined by the structure of each individual vertebra, but many of us experience restrictions and instabilities due to physical realities. But we also need to consider the emotional restrictions that sometimes present in muscular tension. The shape of our spine defines the shape of our breath and the way we see the world around us, as threat or delight. This workshop will offer a spinal and core lecture, anatomy, and discussions of approaches toward healing, physical practice, breath work for release as well as stability and awareness.
Saturday May 16th, 2026, Afternoon Session: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
The Givers and Receivers: Hands, Arms and Shoulders:
In this workshop we'll will focus on the shoulder, hands and arms. When we consider its normal, healthy range of motion, the shoulder is relatively free compared to other major joints. As a result, it is functionally less stable than some of the other joints characterized by less innate freedom. We will examine healthy and unhealthy patterns of movement and imbalances commonly found in the shoulder girdle and wrists. After learning how to identify what may be inhibiting the shoulders elbows and wrists from their fullest potential, the students will participate in practical exercises to help find safe and effective ways to increase mobility and strength. In addition, the heart plexus and the role of the surrounding connective tissue will be discussed. Demonstrations and practices will be presented throughout the workshop to explore and instill change. This class will include lecture of the anatomical complexities of the shoulder, the emotional components that present in the musculature, practice, modification for poses, and learning to see the structure.
May 16th 2026 Evening Session: 6 to 9:00 PM
Rooting for Ourselves: Exploring Hips, Knees and Ankles:
The pelvis serves multiple anatomical purposes, supporting viscera and operating as the stabilizing structure from which the legs explore the world. The pelvic girdle is a matrix of checks and balances: for every degree of imbalance below the pelvis, something must compensate, creating imbalance above. Its subtle mobility is essential in movement, and if lost, in either inflexibility or hyper-mobility, the rest of the body suffers. As we become more familiar with the innate kinesiology and muscles of the hips and legs, we will be able to assess and address imbalances within the pelvic girdle and leg lines.
We will also discuss how imbalances within the pelvic region not only affect our physical health but also our mental well-being and emotional balance. The shoulders tend to instability, whereas the hips tend toward stiffness, both due to anatomical design. We'll practice simple mobility exercises and hone techniques to maintain healthy hips, knees, and ankles. Those should help to help correct or manage imbalances. Class will include anatomical lecture, sharing of stories, practices for ankles, knees and hips, support work for optimal alignment for individuals, and pelvic floor exercises to build awareness and rebalance the root.
